Hello and welcome to Ascending Light Counseling! It takes great courage to acknowledge some things aren’t working in your life and I am humbled every day that people trust me to walk with them on that journey. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor in practice since 2010. I’ve worked in multiple different settings including an agency focused on substance use assessments and recovery, community mental health and a group practice. Prior to opening my own practice, I served as a clinical therapy director supervising a team of 14 different therapists and established the agency’s first telehealth therapy team providing mental health services virtually to the city of Houston.

Drawing on my work as a therapist and clinical therapy director, I've assisted individuals, couples and families find healing from a variety of presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, acute stress/trauma and parenting distress. My specialties include utilizing EMDR therapy to reprocess trauma and also, assisting clients in navigating relational dynamics. I believe my relatable personality and collaborative approach sets me apart from other therapists; in addition, to my efforts to incorporate alternative and creative means to facilitate healing including pulling in references from art, music, sports and pop-culture.
